MagiCAD helps speed up design and maintain quality
The challenge facing STEAM in the Treviso hospital project, as explained by Salvatore Galante Project and BIM Manager at STEAM, was that it had to be completed in record time while maintaining a very high level of quality.
Specialising in plant engineering, STEAM have found that using MagiCAD has considerably speeded up the modeling of ducts, pipes, cable trays and conduits. It has also facilitated the associated calculations that are required for the creation of functional diagrams. STEAM also used MagiCAD Cloud in the project, both manufacturer libraries and custom libraries created with the help of MagiCAD Create.
The project was carried out entirely in BIM and the task assigned to STEAM included executive preliminary design, design of the mechanical and electrical systems, external network design and fire prevention design. STEAM was also responsible for conducting an environmental impact study for the project and for the creation and maintenance of the BIM libraries.
MagiCAD Cloud is an online library with extensive collections of data-rich and light objects for different disciplines. The object data can be used for sizing and balancing. Objects can also be quickly generated with MagiCAD Create, a module for creating and editing libraries of custom objects.
