MagiCAD 2023 includes all of the new features and improvements from previous MagiCAD releases. Please see also the feature highlights from the latest MagiCAD 2022 UR-1 and UR-2 releases.
1. Support for Autodesk AutoCAD 2023 and Microsoft Windows 11
MagiCAD 2023 is compatible with the new Autodesk AutoCAD 2023, as well as with the previous four AutoCAD versions 2019-2022, including the verticals AutoCAD MEP and AutoCAD Architecture. The new MagiCAD 2023 release is also compatible with Microsoft Windows 11.
2. Access full MagiCAD Cloud product information directly from MagiCAD
Ventilation, Piping, Sprinkler, Electrical
The MagiCAD Cloud content library is constantly growing with new information that is useful for designers when selecting and evaluating products. We have recently added more comprehensive product information and documentation into MagiCAD Cloud, including links to manufacturer documentation, such as installation and maintenance instructions, and ETIM classification codes and related data, in addition to the existing technical data that is required for calculations. You can now easily access the full MagiCAD Cloud product information directly from MagiCAD with a new Linked Properties option for products.
3. Use offset for aligned cable routes
When drawing cable routes with left or right alignment, you can now set an offset from the alignment line to the outer edge of the drawn segment. Using an offset makes it easy to draw cable routes alongside a wall or other structure without touching it.
4. Create detailed material lists with new bend types
Vertical and horizontal bends now have their own sub-types. In addition, vertical bends themselves have been divided into inner and outer bends. The new sub-types allow bend elements to be counted separately in bill of materials lists, making the lists more detailed and informative.
5. Create automatic circuit schematic drawings based on switchboard schematics
You can now create circuit schematic drawings based on template drawing references that have been stored in switchboard schematic drawings. MagiCAD collects the template references from each circuit in the switchboard schematic drawing and automatically creates new circuit schematic drawings based on them.
Each new page in the circuit schematic drawing is linked with the corresponding circuit in the switchboard schematic, which allows you to update circuit numbers for both drawings simultaneously and enables additional data exchange functions in future versions. The linking between switchboard and circuit schematics can also be done afterwards with the help of a new Link Manager function.
6. Add pressure measuring units to ventilation systems
Constant pressure dampers use a sensor placed downstream in the network to maintain a pre-set static or total pressure in the network. You can now install any device from the Other duct component class to a ventilation system, set it as a pressure measurer, and define the desired pressure level at the measuring unit. This complements constant pressure dampers and enables them to be included in ventilation calculations.
7. Thermostatic mixing valves for domestic water systems
Thermostatic mixing valves are now available as a new product category in MagiCAD for AutoCAD. They are used in domestic water networks for mixing cold and hot water in order to ensure a safe water temperature, for example in showers or faucets.
The addition of thermostatic mixing valves means that it is now possible to model an entire domestic water network in detail from the boiler to the last shower head.
8. Create generic manholes for drainage systems
You can now easily create generic manholes for drainage systems. The dimensions of the manhole can be customized and the drainage pipe connections can be made anywhere on the manhole, so you can easily create manholes to match the specific needs of different drainage networks.
9. Edit text objects with Change Properties
The Change Properties tool can now be used also for text objects in schematic drawings. If you need to change the height, style, or even colour, of a text object after it has already been placed, this can be easily done by simply editing them in Change Properties.
