”The MagiCAD Suite option, which includes both AutoCAD and Revit technologies, has proven to be very flexible for us as it enables us to use always the most suitable technology depending on the customers’ requirements or the project-specific features.”

Toni Salonen, Project Manager, HVAC design, Sol-Air Oy

“We have been carrying out our MEP design using MagiCAD for AutoCAD since the year 2000”, says Toni Salonen, Project Manager, HVAC design from Sol-Air. “In 2012, we upgraded to MagiCAD Suite in order to expand the design possibilities of our existing MagiCAD modules to cover also Revit technology. The MagiCAD Suite option, which includes both AutoCAD and Revit technologies, has proven to be very flexible as it enables us to use always the most suitable technology depending on the customers’ requirements or project-specific features. We carry out quite a bit of building information modelling and for this purpose MagiCAD for Revit is an excellent choice.”

“One of the great advantages of Revit technology is the fact that we can create 3D references in Revit format directly from the IFC models created by other designers”, Toni Salonen continues. “MEP systems can be designed as part of the combined model which makes project coordination more efficient and enables us to view all the different building services systems without the need for a separate modelling software. Revit’s 3D views make it easy to view and edit different systems as well as create real-time bills of materials and reports.”

“With Revit, the entire project is stored in a single model which makes collaboration between the different parties run smoother, and with synchronisation, each designer is able to follow the progress of other designers in real time”, Toni adds. “To put it simply, from our perspective, MagiCAD for Revit takes building information modelling to a whole new level.”
