We have just released MagiCAD 2022.1 patch, which resolves the following issues in MagiCAD 2022 for Revit and AutoCAD:

MagiCAD for Revit – Fixed issues

IFC4 certification improvements

[Ventilation, Piping, Electrical]

A number of improvements have been made in accordance with IFC4 certification requirements.

Support for a new ‘degrees’ angle unit has been added, port connections and their naming are now correctly set in IFC files, and the relations between different IFC types related to electrical circuits and systems have been defined. Improvements to exporting space geometry include support for slanting walls, roofs and floors, and the export now includes empty floors if they have been selected as storeys in the project.

Wrong elevation in IFC export

Due to an issue in IFC export, elevation was calculated twice when any Origin option other than Internal coordinates was selected. For example, if elevation was set to 25 meters in the project, the elevation that was written to the IFC file was 50 meters. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Fittings were not exported if their IFC type was GeographicElementType

[Ventilation, Piping, Electrical]

Fittings were not exported to the IFC file if their IFC type was set as GeographicElementType. This is not a very likely selection, however. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1

Radiator valves could not be added to dataset in the Valve tool

Radiator valves could not be added to the dataset by right-clicking and selecting New in the radiator valve list in the Valve tool. Stop valve selection worked correctly. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1

Copying heating load from a space in radiator selection did not work

[Piping]

The ‘Pick reference space from the project to copy the design heating load’ -option in radiator selection did not copy the heat load value from the space to the selection tool. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Defining domestic hot water return system did not work

[Piping]

Defining domestic hot water return system by placing a domestic hot water circulation point did not work and the system remained a hot water flow system. This has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Drainage connection tool could not connect a horizontal pipe to a vertical pipe

[Piping]

Drainage connection tool could not find any suggested solutions to connect a horizontal pipe to a vertical pipe. This issue is fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1

Pipe connection dialog not displayed correctly in Russian interface

[Piping]

Some texts in the Pipe connection dialog were not displayed correctly when using the Russian interface. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1

Missing font in Windows installation prevented MagiCAD from starting

[All]

If the Arial font was missing in a Windows installation, MagiCAD would not start. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Issue with Rectangle option for underfloor heating

[Piping]

Drawing underfloor heating loops with the Rectangle option caused an unexpected error in some situations. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

MagiCAD for AutoCAD – Fixed issues

Revision cloud not shown when it was being drawn

The Revision cloud was not shown while it was being drawn on AutoCAD 2022, but only afterwards, when it was ready. This made the function unusable. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Issues with feeder blocks

[Electrical]

Feeder blocks in switchboard schematic drawings created duplicate plan drawing references when they were edited. In addition, the Edit References function mixed up circuit references in switchboard schematic drawings that contained feeder blocks. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Unnecessary saving of column selections

[Electrical]

Column selections were saved into the project more frequently than necessary and even if no changes were made to the visible columns, for example when toggling between product categories. This resulted in unnecessary read/write errors or notifications about an updated project file. Some users also experienced long waiting times during these operations. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

Wrong reference point used when changing radiator size

[Piping]

Changing radiator size used the radiator centre point when adjusting its length and height. This has been corrected so that, if the radiator is not connected to pipes, bottom centre is used as the reference point, and if the radiator is connected, the position of the pipes is used as the reference point.

PDF batch export button performed normal PDF export

[Schematic]

PDF batch export button performed a normal PDF export. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.

IFC export sometimes failed when the model contained kitchen hoods

[Ventilation]

IFC export sometimes failed if the model included kitchen hoods installed with a plugin. This issue has been fixed in MagiCAD 2022.1.
