Finding the right drainage product can be challenging when projects involve a wide range of product types, application areas, and technical requirements. To help designers work more efficiently, Purus has renewed its MagiCAD Cloud Selection Tool with a redesigned user interface, category-based product browsing, and new product configuration capabilities.
The updated Selection Tool also now includes the complete Purus product portfolio, making it easier for designers to find, configure, and insert Purus products into BIM projects using MagiCAD for Revit, MagiCAD for AutoCAD, and Revit.
“Our main objective was to become more visible and accessible to designers who search for and use digital products through MagiCAD Cloud. We also saw a need to become involved earlier in projects and make it easier for consultants to work with our products. At the same time, it is about keeping pace with the industry’s digital development and offering a competitive digital experience through MagiCAD Cloud,” says Per-Johan Dolk, Product Manager at Purus.
One of the biggest improvements is the introduction of product categories, allowing designers to browse products by product type or intended application. Combined with the redesigned interface, the Selection Tool provides a more intuitive and efficient product selection experience, helping users navigate Purus’ extensive drainage portfolio with greater confidence.
Users can also review products through interactive 3D views, images, dimensions, and technical properties before inserting them into their BIM projects.
“We have a fairly complex product portfolio, and we wanted to make it easier to find the right product. Organising the products into clear categories gives designers a much better overview and makes the selection process simpler,” says Per-Johan Dolk.
The renewed Selection Tool also introduces support for custom lengths for several Purus channel products. Instead of selecting only standard sizes, designers can now define project-specific channel lengths directly within the tool.
Together with the expanded product range, this gives designers greater flexibility while helping them select products that more closely match project requirements.
“The biggest improvement is that we now have our complete product assortment available in the Selection Tool. If I were to highlight one specific feature, it would be the ability to define custom channel lengths. It saves time during design and makes it easier to select the right products for each project,” says Dolk.
