1. Support for Autodesk Revit 2027

2. MagiCAD IFC export API

The MagiCAD IFC export API allows you to set up automated and uninterrupted IFC exports of your projects. This allows organizations to combine current workflows with fully automated IFC delivery.

When IFC delivery is automated with the help of the MagiCAD IFC export API, it becomes a controlled and repeatable process. Because the IFC export uses previously established export settings the output remains consistent across projects and teams. The automated IFC export is also not reliant on the availability of individual users, removing potential bottlenecks in project delivery.

3. Workset management in Project Wizard

Worksets are essential in Revit worksharing projects where multiple team members work on the same project model at the same time. Worksets help establish a collaborative multi-user environment by dividing the project into areas of responsibility but their definition at the start of a project can be repetitive and error prone work.

Worksets can now be created and managed in the MagiCAD Project Wizard tool already as part of the project setup process. Using pre-defined worksets enables fast and consistent setup of worksharing projects.

4. Add pre-configured segment series to dataset

You can now add pre-configured duct, cable-tray and conduit series from MagiCAD Cloud directly into the MagiCAD project dataset. The series include both system segments and a set of fittings in compatible sizes. Using pre-configured series saves you the effort of selecting products manually and verifying their compatibility, which means a faster start to your projects.

5. Assign default duct or pipe series and system code for system types

Piping, Ventilation

The System Type Manager tool now allows users to assign a default duct or pipe series and system code for ventilation and piping system types. When the system type is then changed in drawing options, the corresponding duct or pipe series is applied automatically reducing manual selections and speeding up pipe design. The assigned system code is automatically used when creating new systems in MagiCAD.

Automating series and system code selections helps users work more efficiently and ensures consistency across the project.

6. New product installation method for piping

Piping

A new installation method in MagiCAD allows components to be installed directly to open connectors of other elements. This is particularly useful when installing counter flanges to pumps and can also be used to create valve assemblies as the function will automatically size the installed products according to the connection size.

7. Parameter based linking in Schematics

Schematics

Linking schematic symbols to model elements is a fundamental part of schematic workflows, but traditional selection-based linking can be slow. MagiCAD now introduces a new alternative linking option where schematic symbols can be linked to project elements based on matching parameter values. This avoids the need to visually locate and select each target element in the model, making the process significantly smoother particularly when working with repetitive or standardized systems.

8. Improved editing and customization for schematics

Schematics

Schematic diagrams often include parallel branches with repeated symbols or end-of-line devices. This means even minor adjustments may need a lot of time and effort as they need to be repeated multiple times. The Move & Stretch function in MagiCAD now allows you to move multiple parallel schematic lines simultaneously saving considerable editing time. Symbols are moved together with the lines, and connected branches are stretched to maintain consistent layouts. The function can also be used to adjust selected symbols on parallel lines.

The new version also allows you to customize the schematics tool palette. You can now hide and reorganize palette tabs based on your personal workflow, which makes it easier to find the correct symbol in increasingly large symbol libraries.

9. Stretch wire function

Electrical

The new Stretch Wire function allows you to stretch wires from vertex points. The function can be found in the MagiCAD Electrical ribbon, and you can also assign it a keyboard shortcut for easy access from any view.

After starting the function, select two points along a wire run to define a section to modify and repeat for as many sections as you want to edit simultaneously. Next, indicate the direction and length for the adjustment and all selected wire sections with their vertex points are stretched accordingly while vertex points in unselected sections remain in place.

10. Generate cable descriptions for wires and circuits

Electrical

The Update Parameters function now includes an option to automatically generate cable descriptions for wires and circuits according to their current types and conductor setups. The function supports multi-core and single-core wire and cable products and families with specified conductor setups.

For parallel cables, there are additional dataset settings available for defining multiplier characters and prefix and suffix characters, which are used to determine how the cable configurations are formatted in cable descriptions.
